Discount Prime is tested and verified to work on 16 Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes, and is also expected to work smoothly on many more themes built on the same architecture. This guide covers what each theme is actually good for: the type of business it fits, its standout features, whether it's free or paid, and whether it's a good fit for a large/Shopify Plus-scale store.
A quick note on "Plus": Shopify doesn't technically restrict any theme to Plus stores, every free and paid theme in the Theme Store can be installed on any Shopify plan, including Plus. What we mean by "Plus-friendly" below is that a theme is commonly chosen by larger, higher-catalog, or enterprise-scale merchants (who are more often on Plus) because of its merchandising depth or customization ceiling, not because Plus unlocks it.

WHY THIS LIST MATTERS
Discount Prime's widgets (sales badge, countdown timer, cart savings, progress bars, and more) render through Shopify's theme app extension system. Shopify themes implement that system slightly differently, so Discount Prime maintains and actively tests against the Verified list to guarantee a correct out-of-the-box experience.
STEP-BY-STEP: CONFIRM YOUR THEME IS SUPPORTED
1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store -> Themes and check the name of your current (published) theme.
2. Compare it against the Verified or Also Compatible lists above.
3. If it's Verified, proceed to "Getting Started with Discount Prime" to enable the app embeds.
4. If it's Also Compatible or unlisted, see "What If My Theme Isn't Listed?" below.
WHAT IF MY THEME ISN'T LISTED?
Many themes outside both lists still work fine, especially if they're built on Shopify's standard Online Store 2.0 architecture, since this list only reflects themes we've actively verified or that are well-known Theme Store options, not an exhaustive allow-list. If your theme isn't listed:
1. Install Discount Prime and enable the app embeds as usual (see "Getting Started with Discount Prime").
2. Check your storefront in an Incognito tab to confirm the widgets display correctly.
3. If something looks off, reach out to support with your theme's name, we'll help troubleshoot and can add it to the Verified list once confirmed.
TIPS & COMMON MISTAKES
- Custom or heavily modified themes (even ones based on a supported theme like Dawn) can behave differently if the app block/embed sections were removed or repositioned during customization.
- Vintage (Online Store 1.0) themes aren't part of this list; Discount Prime widgets rely on the newer theme app extension system, which vintage themes don't support the same way.
- "Plus-friendly" is a business fit, not a technical gate. Every theme listed works on every Shopify plan; the note just reflects which themes are commonly chosen by larger catalogs.
- Always verify in an Incognito tab after switching themes, since some themes cache admin sessions and can show stale widget states.
